DyreTolk (“the app”, “we”) is a fun, research-inspired tool that offers AI-based guesses about what your dog or cat might be trying to express. The app is built privacy-first. This policy explains what we do — and, more importantly, what we do not do — with your data.

The short version: DyreTolk has no account, no server and no tracking. Everything you create stays on your device, and nothing is uploaded or shared.

Data we collect

None on our side. We do not operate a server and do not receive, store or have access to any of your information. The app does not require an account or login.

Data stored on your device

To make the app work, the following is stored locally on your device only (using your device’s local storage), and never leaves it:

Pet profiles you create (name, species, optional age, breed, personality and photo).
Interpretation history (the chosen situation, the AI guess, and your feedback).
App settings.
Optional sound recordings, only if you keep the “Save recordings” setting on.

Microphone

The app uses your microphone only while you are actively recording a sound, so it can analyse it on your device. Audio is processed locally and is never transmitted anywhere. If you enable “Save recordings”, clips are stored locally so you can play them back; you can delete them at any time.

Sharing and third parties

We do not share any data, because we do not collect any. DyreTolk uses no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.

Your control

You can delete individual interpretations, clear all history, or erase all pets, history and settings from the app at any time (Settings → Delete all data). Uninstalling the app also removes all locally stored data.

Children

DyreTolk is family-friendly and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Not a veterinary service

DyreTolk provides AI-based guesses for learning, fun and observation. It does not give reliable translations and is not a substitute for a veterinarian. If you suspect illness, pain or acute stress, contact a vet.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version at this address.
